'Spruced up Heron' Sited astride the path at the edge of the spruce wood, the heron is made of three spruce trees. Two of them are standing trees pulled together at the top making the legs and feet and the third was windblown and hoisted up to form the neck. The head and body are carved from oak and jointed onto the trees. Sadly after 17 years the sculpture had to be removed. We gave it an indecent burial and it now lies buried with its head and fee in the air close to where it first stood

“Hanging Bat” Is a Horseshoe Bat chosen for the way they wrap themselves up. I couldn’t resist the atrium like quality of the cops near the top of the fell as a setting.

'Walking Snake' 1998 The snakes tail at the bottom of the fell invites children of all ages to balance on the snake, making your way up the fell to be confronted at the top by the snakes head curled round to challenge you.

'Basking Lizard' This is a Kissing seat carved in oak and is placed just across the path from a favourite basking rock for lizards.

''Black Tiger Wood'' This takes its name from the area it stands in, It is a double seat carved into a pair of Scapula (shoulder blades) in the Tigers mouth. The visitors sitting on the seat may not realise they are part of the next meal.
